Pennines Hydrological Group

The Pennines Hydrological Group (PHG) is the regional section of the BHS for the whole of the North of England. The group is run on behalf of its members (over 300) by an elected committee who represent the broad range of interests and hydrological expertise of the region. The PHG run a series of evening and day meetings throughout the year across the region on a variety of topics relating to hydrology, catering for hydrology professionals in academia, industry and regulatory sectors. Recent meetings have been held at Warrington, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle, whilst planned future meetings can be viewed from the BHS meetings page. Evening meetings tend to be extremely well attended and provide opportunities for making new contacts within an informal, friendly atmosphere. In particular, the PHG are very keen to encourage postgraduates and early career hydrologists to participate in the group's activities, and to present their work at relevant technical meetings. Suggestions for meetings and events are always welcomed.
