The Scottish Hydrological Group
The Scottish Hydrological Group is the principal forum for
hydrologists living and working in Scotland, and is constituted
as a study group supported by two local associations of the
Institution of Civil Engineers - the Edinburgh & East
of Scotland and Glasgow & West of Scotland Associations.
It was founded in 1965 and, since then, has typically organised
four meetings per year to address issues of contemporary hydrological
interest. Each annual programme usually includes a half-day
event in addition to the usual evening meetings, and meetings
are often organised jointly with other groups. Close links
are maintained with the British Hydrological Society, with
the group effectively operating as a Scottish section of BHS
- reports of meetings are published in the BHS newsletter
Circulation. Most meetings are held either in Glasgow or in
Edinburgh.
